The former first lady of US, Michelle Obama has announced that her memoir, titled ‘Becoming,’ will hit shelves on November 13th, 2018.

Obama in a statement explained that the book has given her “the space to honestly reflect on the unexpected trajectory of my life.” She added that working on the memoir has been a “deeply personal experience,” noting that the book will examine “how a little girl from the South Side of Chicago found her voice and developed the strength to use it to empower others.”

News of Michelle Obama’s memoir first broke in February 2017, when both she and Barack Obama signed a book deal with Penguin Random House.

Markus Dohle, CEO of Penguin Random House, described ‘Becoming’ as an “unusually intimate reckoning from a woman of soul and substance who has steadily defied expectations.” Dohle added that Obama’s book will be very different from a “traditional former first lady memoir.”
