It’s not official yet, but the PlayStation YouTube channel’s March 25 release date appears quite likely.

Ghostwire Tokyo, Tango Gameworks’ frightening new action-adventure from the Evil Within creators, is set to release on March 25. The date hasn’t to get confirmed yet. However, it got revealed in a YouTube listing for a PlayStation Showcase.

“Face the unknown in Ghostwire: Tokyo, coming March 25, 2022, on PlayStation 5,” according to the listing, which is humorous given that Tango Gameworks is a branch of ZeniMax Media, which gets now owned by Microsoft. The game got intended to come out in 2021. But it got moved back to early 2022 in July of that year—and, for the record, it also gets confirmed to come to PC.

Ghostwire Tokyo looks more action-packed than Tango Gameworks’ Evil Within survival horror franchise. “The studio’s first attempt into the action-adventure realm,” Bethesda Softworks said in 2020.

Shinichiro Hara, who worked on DOOM (2016)’s push-forward combat and Glory Kill system and is now the Combat Director on GhostWire: Tokyo, is assisting them in building a more action-oriented game Bethesda claimed at the time. “Hara and the Tango combat team have devised a sophisticated, combo-based system based on traditional Kuji-Kiri hand gestures,” says Hara.

Trailers like this one have leaned heavily toward the action side of the coin, even though they’re still pretty creepy.

The date of March 25 isn’t official, but it didn’t appear on some random YouTuber’s channel—this is the official PlayStation YouTube channel, which has 14 million subscribers. It’s also worth noting that the date has yet to get removed.

We believe this makes it a very safe bet, but We’ve gone out to Bethesda to double-check, and we’ll update if We hear back. In any case, if you’re interested in learning more about Ghostwire: Tokyo, you should tune in to the PlayStation Showcase on February 3 at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET.
