Spider Man is the sixth biggest movie of all time

According to industry figures released Sunday, Spider-Man: No Way Home climbed to sixth place on the all-time global box office list after reclaiming the top spot in North American theatres during the weekend.

After briefly dropping from the top rung last weekend, the Sony superhero yarn starring Tom Holland pulled in an estimated $14.1 million (approximately Rs. 105 crores) in its sixth week in the United States and Canada, according to industry observer Exhibitor Relations. And in North America, it’s $721 million making it the fourth-biggest release ever.

Sony’s superhero juggernaut swung back to first place in its sixth weekend in theatres and became the sixth highest-grossing film of all time, globally on Sunday.

Spider-Man: No Way Residence is anticipated to cruel $1.69 billion (approximately Rs. 12,580 crores) globally, pressing its previous blockbuster movies Jurassic Park ($1.67 billion (approx. Rs. 12,480 crores)) and The Lion King ($1.66 billion (approx. Rs. 12,360 crores)) into sixth place with the all ranking, as per Box Office Mojo, a segment of the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).

Universal and Illumination’s “Sing 2″ landed in third place in its fifth weekend, with $5.7 million. The animated title has earned $241.2 million worldwide.

Given that it occurred during the coronavirus pandemic when theatergoers were unwilling to return due to an Omicron-fueled surge in the number of cases, the achievement is all the more astounding.

Only Avatar, Avengers: Endgame, Titanic, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, and Avengers: Infinity War have surpassed it in terms of global box office receipts.
